Fevola says he sacked management
Troubled former AFL star Brendan Fevola denies his management company sacked him, saying it was the other way round.
It emerged on Tuesday that Fevola had parted with Velocity Sports, who represented him while he was in rehabilitation and when Brisbane sacked the two-time Coleman Medallist.
Velocity executive Alastair Lynch had said they no longer felt they could represent the former Carlton and Lions player.
Fevola returned to Australia on Monday following a short holiday in the United States - which Velocity had advised him not to take.
"No, they didn't sack me at all," Fevola told Triple M.
"Last week when I was overseas we had a few things that I disagreed with and I said: 'it's going down a path where we should maybe, you know, part ways', and now they've come out and said they sacked me, when it was the other way around.
"I don't know what it is, but people seem to want to give you a sting every now and again."
Fevola hopes to play a practice match in the VFL this week.
He was trained with VFL team Casey and has also been linked to Frankston.
