Kart driver suspended on drug offence
An Australian karting driver has been suspended from competing for two years for the attempted use of testosterone.
Townsville driver Hayden Stephensen, a former Queensland state champion, has been banned by the Australian Karting Association from competing until July 2012.
Stephensen was suspended after customs officers intercepted a package sent to him which contained Sustanon 250, an oil-based liquid which contains testosterone.
The Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority analysed the contents of the package and found they did contain testosterone, which is on the World Anti-Doping Agency's prohibited list.
