Eade confident Hall can bounce back
Barry Hall's previous AFL coach believes the suspended Sydney forward can overcome his personal problems and regain his status as one of the competition's stars.
Rodney Eade, who coached Hall in the first half of 2002 before Paul Roos took over, and is now in charge of the Western Bulldogs, said he thought the 31-year-old still had a lot to offer the game.
Hall was this week suspended indefinitely by Sydney and told to undergo anger management treatment after he incurred a second ban this season from the match review panel for his attempted strike on Collingwood's Shane Wakelin last Saturday night.
He returned to Sydney training on Wednesday, but will not play again until club psychologist Grant Brecht passes him emotionally ready.
Eade, his ex-coach and former neighbour in Sydney, was confident Hall could regain his standing as a match-winner amid doubts the three-time All-Australian's best football is behind him.
"Watching him on telly last night he seemed to be in a jovial mood on the track," Eade said on Thursday.
"I think Barry has got a lot to offer.
"I think he's still going to be a good player in the competition and I've got no doubt he'll get through this."
The Swans have not said when Hall will return this season, but he is contracted for 2009.
