Broncos' Te'o accepts two-match NRL ban
Brisbane backrower Ben Te'o has been suspended for two matches for his dangerous throw in the Broncos' heavy NRL loss to Cronulla.
Te'o was placed on report after dumping Nathan Stapleton on his head in the 58th minute of the 46-12 win to the Sharks at Toyota Stadium on Monday night.
The former Wests Tigers forward was charged with a grade two dangerous throw and copped a two-game ban after entering an early guilty plea on Tuesday.
He risked a three-match suspension by opting to contest the charge at the NRL judiciary.
Broncos forward Josh McGuire was also charged with a grade one careless high tackle in the loss but escaped suspension with an early guilty plea.
Meanwhile, Melbourne rookie Dane Nielsen has accepted a one-match ban for the high tackle which saw him sent from the field in Sunday's NRL win over Wests Tigers.
Nielsen was charged on Monday with a grade four careless high tackle for his 77th minute hit on Tigers winger Beau Ryan, referee Ashley Klein showing little hesitation in sending the 24-year-old centre from the field.
Despite the tough grading, Nielsen will miss only one match after entering an early guilty plea rather than risking two matches if he unsuccessfully challenged the charge at the judiciary.
