Knights trio face NRL judiciary charges
Newcastle duo Matt Hilder and Steve Simpson face two-week suspensions to start the 2010 NRL season after both received dangerous throw charges from the match review committee on Monday.
Adding further misery to the Knights' failed finals campaign, Hilder was handed a grade two dangerous throw charge while Simpson was handed a grade one offence.
Simpson would ordinarily only miss one week, but he has 88 carryover points that increases his ban to two games with an early guilty plea.
Hilder could be rubbed out for three weeks if he decides to fight the charge at the NRL judiciary and is unsuccessful.
Newcastle prop Richard Fa'aoso was handed a grade one careless high tackle charge but will not miss any games.
The charge sheet is a massive relief to Brisbane halfback Peter Wallace who has escaped any further punishment after being put on report for a high tackle in the Broncos' win over the Gold Coast.
