Rapira free to play in Warriors' NRL semi
Warriors prop Sam Rapira is free to play in Friday night's NRL semi-final against Wests Tigers after taking the early guilty plea to a dangerous throw charge.
As expected the Warriors took the safe option in accepting the charge, given Rapira would have risked a one-game ban had he attempted to contest the charge.
He was placed on report and handed a grade one charge for a 63rd minute lifting tackle on Brisbane hooker Andrew McCullough in Saturday night's 40-10 qualifyingfinal loss to the Broncos.
The Kiwi Test prop can't afford another incident throughout the finals however, given he will now have 93 carry-over points hanging over his head.
Manly backrower Shane Rodney and North Queensland winger Ashley Graham both pleaded guilty to grade one careless high tackle charges, though neither was in any danger of being suspended due to the minor nature of the infringement.
