Broncos' attitude will be right: Lockyer
Brisbane NRL captain Darren Lockyer expects a major attitude turnaround against the Gold Coast on Friday night following a week of soul searching by his players.
Brisbane return to near full strength and Lockyer believes they've also corrected a poor attitude which cost them a win against the Dragons last week after leading 12-0.
"We all know what we're capable of, it's just a matter of whether we want to play that way," he said."
"We've made a few excuses for ourselves because we've been missing players but at the end of the day we didn't have the right attitude last week.
"We've got all our players back now so there can't be any excuses this week.
"We all knew after the game on Friday night (against the Dragons) that our attitude wasn't there.
"Time will tell whether everyone's changed their attitude but there's been a bit of soul searching this week."
Assistant coach Ivan Henjak, buoyed by the return of stars Justin Hodges, Karmichael Hunt and Tonie Carroll, said it was time to hit the accelerator against the Titans.
"We need to win our remaining (three) games and win them with some sore of authority," said Henjak.
Brisbane have devised tactics to nullify the masterful kicking game of Titans halfback Scott Prince who can expect to have his injured arm tested at every opportunity.
Prince will again have his forearm heavily padded to protect a fracture will still hasn't fully healed.
"The big arm guard ... he only has to notice that and his confidence is going to be a little bit rocked," said Henjak.
"Any halfback who is a main ball player is going to get tested and we're no different.
"Our big wide running forwards head for those guys and our plays revolve around engaging those players. He'll get tested."
Prince said he wouldn't be looking to hide defensively after gaining some confidence last week.
"Every time I play there's always forwards out to get me," he said after training.
"I think I overcame a lot of demons last week taking the field.
"I'm little more confident that I can get through the full 80 and I wouldn't be playing if I didn't think that.
"I'm sure the Broncos will be targeting me a little in defence but that's to be expected."
Henjak acknowledged the threat of Prince's kicking game.
"He's got a varied kicking game which we've talked about and we've got a plan to handle that," said Henjak.
"There's certain players that we need to be aware that are around the area he's going to kick to so I think we've got that covered.
"It won't just be Karmichael (Hunt), everyone has to take some responsibility with Scott Prince's kicking game to make sure they stay alive and keep competing or lose concentration because he can put the ball anywhere."
