Lockyer in doubt for Origin II
Queensland coach Mal Meninga admits skipper Darren Lockyer is in doubt for next Wednesday's second State of Origin clash at Suncorp Stadium due to his ongoing knee injury.
Lockyer has not trained since making his comeback with Brisbane last Friday but will run for about 20 minutes in Friday's session to test how well his knee has recovered.
Gold Coast halfback Scott Prince was called into camp on Friday morning as a precaution to an injury scare for Johnathan Thurston, but Lockyer is the biggest injury cloud hanging over the Maroons.
Meninga says the decision on Lockyer playing on Wednesday will be left up to the champion five-eighth.
"He is a little bit sore so we will test him up today in today's session and see how he is travelling," said Meninga.
"He is going to be the best judge in regards to whether he wants to play or not.
"It will be his decision based on the pain."
