Lockyer cleared to take on Eels
Brisbane captain Darren Lockyer has been cleared to play in Friday night's NRL match against Parramatta at Suncorp Stadium.
Lockyer has run at training for the past two days and an intensive training session with the team on Thursday convinced medical staff he had overcome a knee injury.
The champion five-eighth consulted with club physiotherapists on Friday morning and reported no soreness.
Lockyer's return will be scrutinised by Queensland selectors, who are hopeful he can demonstrate he'll be ready for Origin II on June 11.
Lockyer's inclusion means prop David Taylor will be 18th man for Friday's match.
