Storm expect Lockyer to do double shift
Melbourne five-eighth Brett Finch expects Brisbane star Darren Lockyer to do the majority of the traditional halves work despite the Broncos naming inexperienced Alex Glenn as halfback for their NRL preliminary final.
Glenn has been shunted into the role made vacant when regular No.7 Peter Wallace broke his ankle last weekend.
But Finch believes Test and Origin five-eighth Lockyer will assume more responsibility to compensate when the two sides clash at Etihad Stadium on Saturday night.
"I'd think Darren Lockyer would do the majority of the first receiver work, but I'm not too sure - they've got a lot of class players," Finch said.
"Peter Wallace is a big loss as any good halfback would be, but we're still expecting a tough game."
The winners move into the following week's grand final - the Storm aiming for a fourth consecutive grand final appearance.
