Minichiello named to return for Roosters
Sydney Roosters fullback Anthony Minichiello will make his long-awaited return from injury in Sunday's NRL clash against Manly.
Minichiello has missed the last eight weeks after re-injuring his back against the Bulldogs in round four but has been named to return at fullback in the Brookvale Oval clash.
The former Test star will come in for Amos Roberts, who will miss the match after injuring his ankle in Monday night's 19-10 win over the Wests Tigers.
"It's feeling good," Minichiello said of the injury that has plagued him in recent seasons.
"It's progressing from week to week so I'll be able to jump in with the boys later in the week and do a few of the sessions and see how I pull up afterwards.
"I just want to play the full season out.
"I haven't done that in the last couple of years so that's definitely my goal."
Minichiello's inclusion comes as a boost to Brad Fittler's side, which will be missing stars Willie Mason, Anthony Tupou, Craig Fitzgibbon and Nate Myles due to State of Origin duty.
Monday night's two-try hero Mitch Aubusson will switch to lock for the match, with Brent Grose named to start in the centres and backrower Lopini Paea also promoted into the starting side.
