Bulldogs sign Youngquest, release Phelps
The Bulldogs have secured winger Nick Youngquest from the Wests Tigers for the remainder of 2008 after releasing utility Cameron Phelps to join Wigan.
Phelps had sought a release from the Bulldogs so he could further his career with the Super League giants and his NRL club eventually agreed after finding a replacement in Youngquest.
Youngquest was granted a release after just half a season with the Tigers and will join the Bulldogs for the remainder of 2008 starting early next week.
"Cameron has requested an opportunity to further his career overseas, which we were more than happy to assist with given the right circumstances," said Bulldogs chief executive Todd Greenberg.
"When Nick Youngquest became available, we felt this was a suitable replacement to our playing roster and we were more than happy to grant the release on those grounds."
Phelps will make his final appearance for the Bulldogs at fullback in Monday's NRL clash against Cronulla at ANZ Stadium.
