Phelps Eyes Early Return
Wigan coach Michael Maguire has played down reports linking the Super League leaders with moves for Melbourne forwards Jeff Lima and Ryan Hoffman.
Maguire, a former Storm assistant coach, knows the pair well but on Wednesday had little comment to make on suggestions they could join him at the DW Stadium next year.
"At the moment I am looking at everyone available and we haven't made any moves," he said.
"It is one of those things every club is going through and other than that I have no comment."
Wigan are without Mike McIlorum, Phil Bailey and Eamon O'Carroll for Friday's top-of-the-table clash with Warrington through injury.
Prop Andy Coley is also missing through suspension.
Wigan full-back Cameron Phelps could be back in action this month after a scan revealed his latest knee problem is not serious.
The 25-year-old, who has made just seven first-team appearances this season, limped out of his comeback game for the Under-20s team on Saturday.
It was feared the former Australia schoolboy international had suffered a recurrence of the injury that has sidelined him for two months but Maguire has received positive news.
"At the moment it is wait and see how it pulls up but it is not as bad as first thought," he said.
"We thought he might have aggravated the same knee injury but it is not too bad.
"He will definitely play again - I'm hoping there might be a chance this weekend or possibly next week, so it is not a major one."
Another lengthy lay-off would have cast doubt over Phelps' future as the former Canterbury player is out of contract at the end of the season.
