Carey back to rock Eagles
Wayne Carey is set to resume for the Adelaide Crows in Sunday's big AFL game against visiting West Coast.
Carey missed last week's win over Sydney with the hamstring problem that had dogged him ever since joining the Crows, but is expected to take the field against the Eagles after being named in the squad tonight.
Former Geelong goalsneak Ronnie Burns is also set to make his Crows debut after a couple of games in the SA league and a groin setback, while key defender Ken McGregor's been brought into the squad despite just a week out with a shoulder problem.
Adelaide skipper Mark Ricciuto remained in doubt after straining his hamstring at training during the week, and he would undergo a fitness test on Friday.
The welcome news for the Eagles was the selection of toughnut Phil Read in the 25-man squad for what could be his first game since the roughhouse WA derby in 2000 when he was suspended and subsequently underwent two knee reconstructions.
Fremantle brought into its squad Graham Polak and Shane Parker - for what would make him the first Docker to play 150 club games - after they missed last week with elbow and hamstring problems respectively.
The Dockers will be hoping the return to home soil will boost winning chances against the flying Kangaroos, who had Brady Rawlings as the most likely replacement for the injured Daniel Motlop.
St Kilda meets Richmond on Easter Monday and swung the axe after last week's towelling by West Coast, dropping four players including Heath Black following an altercation at training.
Number one draft pick Brendon Goddard was named in the squad and could make his much-anticipated debut while captain Aaron Hamill was named to return from a thigh strain.
Geelong too had lost patience with some underperformers, axing David Spriggs among four omissions ahead of Saturday's visit by Melbourne.
