Carey and Archer appear together
Former Kangaroos team-mates Wayne Carey and Glenn Archer appeared together on television, more than two years after the scandal that ruined their friendship.
While the two AFL stars appeared relaxed in each other's company, they were extremely uncomfortable at times as they were questioned over Carey's much-publicised affair with Kelli Stevens, the wife of then team-mate Anthony Stevens.
It was the first time they had made a public appearance together since the scandal, apart from playing on opposing AFL teams.
Carey immediately resigned from the Kangaroos when the affair became public in February 2002, during a party at Archer's house.
The three players were close friends before the scandal and Archer's strong support for Stevens meant there was no way Carey could stay at the club where he made his name as an all-time AFL great.
"It had to come up again because Glenn and I were doing this tonight," Carey said on Channel Nine's The Footy Show.
Archer contacted Carey to help raise money for Kangaroos fan Mare-Nepe Willcox, a cerebral palsy sufferer.
They will auction the jumpers they wore in the 1999 grand final win over Carlton.
"It's all worth it if Mare-Nepe is looked after," Carey said.
Archer sought Stevens' permission before contacting Carey.
