Stevens to front AFL Tribunal
Wayne Carey won't play and Kangaroos skipper Anthony Stevens could join him on the sidelines for the Adelaide-Kangaroos AFL Wizard Cup semi-final at AAMI Stadium on Saturday night.
Stevens is to front the AFL Tribunal after being charged on video evidence.
He has been cited for allegedly charging Melbourne's Cameron Bruce during the Kangaroos' Wizard Cup win over Melbourne at the weekend.
Already the fizz has been taken out of what had loomed as a grudge match between the Crows and the Kangaroos, with Carey ruled out with a back-related hamstring strain.
It would have been the first time Carey, who quit the Roos last year after his affair with Stevens' wife was revealed, had faced his former teammates in a match.
Stevens will join West Coast full forward Troy Wilson at the tribunal on Tuesday night.
Wilson was also reported on video evidence for charging Adelaide's Jason Torney in the Eagles' Wizard Cup loss to the Crows.
A charge against Richmond's Joel Bowden has been withdrawn.
Stevens' and Wilson's citings mean all four reports so far in the pre-season have been for charging.
Meanwhile, the Kangaroos will welcome back defender Leigh Colbert for the semi-final against the Crows, but forward Saverio Rocca has been ruled out.
