Carey could miss Pies clash
Wayne Carey could miss Friday night's big AFL clash against Collingwood after the Adelaide forward re-opened a knee wound in Saturday's 24-point win over West Coast.
Carey had to have six stitches in his knee after opening up the gash at the 18-minute mark of the final term in a marking contest.
The Crows said it was not nearly as bad as the original injury, when Carey had to have 14 stitches inserted after crashing into a behind post at AAMI Stadium in round 15.
Carey missed two weeks following the injury against Essendon on July 11.
He was able to take part in the running section of Adelaide's recovery session in Perth but avoided swimming for fear of infecting the knee.
"He seems fairly confident he will be able to play but we will have to wait and see how it is later in the week," a Crows spokesman said.
Brisbane goalsneak Craig McRae is in doubt for next week after straining a hamstring in the 39-point win over Collingwood.
The Lions will hope that Chris Scott (quad strain) will be fit to return for next weekend's home clash with Sydney.
Swans midfielder Paul Williams turned an ankle against Hawthorn, but came back on later in the game.
The Kangaroos will be able to consider centre half-back Leigh Colbert for next weekend's clash with the Hawks after he impressed in his comeback match in the VFL on the weekend.
