Barrett, Cooper to make Dragons return
Trent Barrett and Matt Cooper are expected to make their return for St George Illawarra when the Dragons team is named for Sunday's NRL clash against South Sydney.
Barrett missed his side's 13-12 loss to Penrith last Sunday due to a stomach virus, while Cooper is expected to make his return after overcoming a hamstring strain.
The news wasn't as good for prop Luke Bailey, who will miss up to six weeks of football due to a knee injury.
The Rabbitohs, who had the bye last weekend, are expected to name Joe Williams at halfback to replace the injured Ben Walker.
Parramatta is also sweating on the fitness of backrower Glenn Morrison after he sustained a knee injury in his side's victory over New Zealand on Saturday.
North Queensland is likely to name hooker Aaron Payne (neck) and winger Matt Sing (back) for its clash against Melbourne on Saturday night, although both will be given until Friday to prove their fitness.
Meanwhile, Manly will have until midday to decide whether to contest a grade one contrary conduct charge levelled against prop Kylie Leuluai.
The Sea Eagles forward was accused of kneeing in his side's 20-16 NRL loss to North Queensland and faces a two-match ban if he enters an early guilty plea and three games if he unsuccessfully contests the charge.
Likewise, Newcastle must decide whether to contest a grade one dangerous throw charge levelled against utility Anthony Quinn, who faces a two-week stint on the sidelines.
