Barrett in Kangaroos train-on squad
Veteran Cronulla captain Trent Barrett has received a late call-up to the Australian rugby league side's Four Nations train-on squad.
Barrett has recovered from a fractured cheekbone and eye socket which forced him to miss the Sharks' last six NRL games.
The 31-year-old was not named when his side missed the finals after round 26 but was included on a list released on Tuesday with Bulldogs and Brisbane players after those clubs were knocked out in last weekend's preliminary finals.
Barrett last played for Australia in 2005, the same year he had last played State of Origin football before making a return to the NSW side this year.
He spent 2007-08 in the English Super League with Wigan.
Only four Bulldogs players were named, to Brisbane's six, despite the Sydney club finishing on equal points with minor premiers St George Illawarra this season.
Michael Ennis, Ben Hannant, Josh Morris and David Stagg are the Dogs' representatives.
Powerhouse Broncos props Dave Taylor and Nick Kenny have been included, with Israel Folau, Justin Hodges, Darren Lockyer and Sam Thaiday completing their contingent.
The train-on squad will assemble in Sydney on Wednesday for medicals and a training session.
