Dragons' coach Brown slapped with fine
St George Illawarra captain Trent Barrett insists his sideline slap from coach Nathan Brown, which resulted in the Dragons receiving a $5,000 fine, will not hurt the NRL club's season.
The Dragons were fined by the NRL over Sunday's incident, in which Brown slapped his captain across the face during the loss to Manly at WIN Stadium.
Barrett, who made his return from a leg injury against the Sea Eagles, was still simmering when he joined a 33-man NSW squad for a one-day camp at Telstra Stadium on Monday.
But he insisted he and Brown had made peace and the Dragons needed to put the matter to rest.
"It's something that shouldn't have happened and I wasn't very happy about it," Barrett said.
"(But) we can't let it disrupt our season and we're not going to let it disrupt our season.
"I'm certainly not one to hold grudges, we sorted that out straight away and I want to leave it at that.
"There won't be a problem."
"Nathan has been very apologetic. He said he was a bit frustrated and in the heat of the moment things probably got the better of him."
Illawarra chief executive Peter Doust said he was happy the matter had been settled.
