Dragons may get back stars
At last, some good news for St George Illawarra coach Nathan Brown.
The winless Dragons could have captain Trent Barrett and Test prop Jason Ryles back for Sunday's clash with Penrith at Penrith Stadium, a meeting between two pre-season premiership favourites in early season trouble.
"I was looking at my the table today, whoever loses this game will be on the bottom of the table on their own," Barrett said today.
"The players are certainly not blaming anyone else. It's our responsibility what happens on the field."
Both are expected to be named in the Dragons side but will only play if 100 per cent.
"We're optimistic but unsure until tomorrow," Dragons chief executive Peter Doust said.
"They trained Saturday, Sunday and today. It depends on how they pull up. We won't be risking them."
Mind you, it wasn't all high-fives at Oki Jubilee Stadium.
Three players - centre Albert Torrens, hooker Michael Ennis and prop Ashton Sims - were placed on report by the NRL's match review committee.
All three could miss the clash with the Panthers.
