AFL Crows' Jaensch injured in 'attack'
Adelaide Crows defender Matthew Jaensch will require surgery after suffering a broken jaw in an incident at an Adelaide hotel on Saturday night.
The AFL club released a statement on Sunday night saying 21-year-old Jaensch was injured "in an attack" at about 10pm on Saturday and that it was "highly likely" he would pursue charges over the incident.
"The club is investigating the incident and will make no further comment at this stage," the statement read.
Jaensch made 13 appearances for the Crows this season, taking out the club's emerging talent award earlier this month.
