Richmond aware of King's court matter
AFL club Richmond have released a statement saying they are aware of a matter before the Bendigo Magistrates Court involving Jake King.
The Bendigo Advertiser and the Herald Sun are both reporting that King allegedly made threats against a Melbourne man and his family.
The Advertiser says police applied for an interim intervention order against King after the alleged victim raised safety concerns.
The Sun says police are expected to interview King over the incident when he returns to Melbourne after this weekend's clash with West Coast.
King, a hard-nosed player often deployed as a defensive forward, is set to play his 72nd AFL game for the Tigers when they take on the Eagles on Sunday in Perth.
The Tigers released a short statement, saying: "As the matter is before the court, the club will be making no comment at this time."
