Tiger draftee under police investigation
Richmond recruit Troy Taylor is the subject of a police investigation into allegations he assaulted three men in Alice Springs early on New Year's Day.
Taylor, 18, who was drafted with pick No.51 in last year's national draft, is alleged to have assaulted three men, aged 33, 39 and 47, during a street party in the city around 12.30am.
Northern Territory police spokeswoman Theresa Kuilboer said no arrests had been made, but investigations were continuing.
She said police were called when there was a disturbance at a street party.
Richmond released a statement on Thursday saying they were aware of the police investigation.
"The Richmond Football Club takes any allegation of player misbehaviour very seriously," the club said.
"Richmond has been in contact with the AFL and has informed it of the Club's knowledge of the matter."
The Tigers said they would make no further comment until after the police investigation was completed.
