Hawks wait on Guerra, Bailey ruled out
Hawthorn utility Brent Guerra is nursing a perforated eardrum but is yet to be ruled out of Saturday's AFL clash with Gold Coast in Launceston.
Guerra was injured in a controversial incident behind the play in last Saturday night's game at the MCG which Geelong won by five points.
"Guerra has had issues with his balance and hearing since leaving the field of play, but has improved significantly over the last 24 hours, and the club will monitor his progress closely in coming days," Hawthorn said in a statement on Monday.
Guerra is one of several injury concerns for the Hawks following the Geelong clash.
In-form big man Jarryd Roughead's season is over and he'll have Achilles surgery on Wednesday.
Roughead's fellow ruckman Brent Renouf remains in hospital with liver damage, with former Kangaroo David Hale a likely replacement.
"Renouf was admitted to hospital to undergo a series of tests to his liver and other internal organs," the Hawks said.
"(He) has suffered internal bruising to his liver and is in a stable condition."
The fourth-placed Hawks hope Renouf will be discharged from hospital on Tuesday.
But he won't play against Gold Coast.
