Suspended fines for AFL Twitter critics
The AFL has fined Melbourne players Ricky Petterd and James Frawley for making comments on Twitter that were critical of a tribunal decision.
The Demons were also handed a suspended sanction of $5000 late on Friday for comments made by the players after Melbourne's James Trengove was suspended for three matches for a heavy tackle which concussed Adelaide's Patrick Dangerfield.
Petterd and Frawley were each given a suspended $2500 fine.
AFL operations manager Adrian Anderson said Melbourne Football Club acknowledged the comments from the players were inappropriate.
