Freo's Schammer beats striking charge
Fremantle midfielder Byron Schammer has won his challenge against a striking charge at the AFL tribunal.
Schammer was found not guilty of striking Carlton's Marc Murphy on the Gold Coast last Saturday night.
He is now free to play Hawthorn on Friday night at Subiaco Oval.
Schammer's case was the only one heard at the tribunal on Tuesday night.
Geelong ruckman Shane Mumford has been fined $1,950 after he pleaded guilty to making negligent contact with an umpire during Saturday's win over Sydney at Skilled Stadium.
North Melbourne forward Lindsay Thomas accepted a reprimand and 60 points towards his future record for striking Port Adelaide's Steven Salopek, but is free to play the Cats on Saturday.
