Broncos lose Te'o to arm fracture
Brisbane will be without utility Ben Te'o for up to four NRL matches after scans this week revealed a hairline fracture in his forearm.
The hard-running Te'o had been named in the centres for Saturday night's NRL clash with the Roosters.
However, he was sent for scans on Tuesday after injuring his arm in Monday night's gritty 17-6 win over Newcastle which he managed to finish.
"We only got the scan results back on Wednesday. Two weeks would be the best case scenario," said Brisbane coach Anthony Griffin on Thursday.
Te'o who shifted from the bench to starting centre against the Knights to help contain dangerman Akuila Uate, made 16 tackles and 11 runs in a strong performance.
Griffith was to consider his replacement options overnight with Dale Copley, demoted to the Queensland Cup last weekend, in line for a possible recall.
Griffin could also swing either Matt Gillett or Alex Glenn into the centres with Corey Norman taking on a utility role.
Youngster Gerard Beale would have solved Griffin's centre dilemma but has to play fullback for another week or two until Josh Hoffman recovers from a nasty shin injury.
Hoffman sustained a bad cork against the Gold Coast and had expected to miss a few weeks.
But scans revealed deep bone bruising and the injury has been slow to respond to treatment.
