Time extension for Schneider
St Kilda have been given an extra day to decide on whether to contest the AFL Match Review Panel's striking charged laid against Adam Schneider.
The small forward has been offered a two-match suspension for striking Collingwood's Brent Macaffer in Saturday's grand final.
The AFL released a statement on Tuesday saying the Saints would have until 11am on Wednesday to announce their decision.
Schneider was charged with a level three striking offence for the third-quarter altercation with Macaffer. The contact was assessed as intentional, low impact and high contact.
Due to the grand final's 100 per cent loading, the penalty increases from 225 to 450 points, which would normally result in a four-match suspension.
However, Schneider's five-year good record cuts the penalty by 25 per cent to 393.75 points.
An early plea will reduce the penalty by a further 25 per cent to 295.31, resulting in a two-match ban.
