Eagles sign up gun rookies
West Coast rookies Andrew Strijk and Callum Wilson will be upgraded to the club's senior list for the 2011 AFL season, but defender Matt Spangher has asked to be traded.
And Ashton Hams has been offered another year on the rookie list, although fellow rookies Adam Cockie and Will Sullivan have been released.
Strijk, 22, was chosen as a mature-age rookie this season and showed he could cut it at the elite level during 10 games for the Eagles. Wilson, in his third season on the rookie list, played the last three games of the season and impressed the coaching staff with eight goals.
Spangher has notched 26 games since being picked with pick No.34 in the 2005 national draft.
But a lack of opportunities this season has convinced the 23-year-old the time is right to move on from the club.
Spangher also asked to be traded at the end of last season before eventually agreeing to a new one-year deal.
