Rookies on the AFL trade table
AFL clubs will be able to trade rookie-listed players under a new rule approved by the league.
Previously, clubs could trade only players on their senior list or draft picks during the post-season exchange period.
Under the new rule, if a club trades for another club's rookie they must place that player on their senior list.
In another minor alteration, the AFL will allow clubs upgrading players from their rookie list to their own senior list to count that as one of the minimum three list changes they must make each year.
