Bock effort no concern: Lions coach Voss
If Brisbane Lions coach Michael Voss was concerned about the potential domino effect set off by Nathan Bock's defection to neighbours the Gold Coast Suns, he hid it well on Tuesday.
Adelaide key defender Bock became Gold Coast's first big-name signing from another AFL club after confirming on Tuesday he would join the Suns in 2011.
Key Lions Jared Brennan and Michael Rischitelli have also been linked to the Suns, but they can only take one uncontracted player from each club.
Under AFL rules, players can't officially sign with the Suns until the end of the season.
Voss admitted speculation swirling around Rischitelli and Brennan was only going to intensify.
"We understand that players can't actually say they have signed right now, but we are lead to believe there are expressions of interest out there," said Voss.
"And over the next two weeks we will be on higher alert as to who those players are, who has decided to move on.
"We are no different (to other clubs) - we are hoping to keep our players and to be able to settle the club down, (and) have a group that stays together, and plays better footy together."
Bock's defection may influence other players mulling over a move to the tourist strip.
But Voss said he did not plan to address Brennan, Rischitelli or any other Lions players about their future in the next fortnight.
"We have got bigger things to worry about, we have to look at what the club can do over the next two weeks," he said of his battling club.
"And what I have seen in our actions from our players over the last few weeks, they just want to turn this around, and they want to do it together."
In 2007, Brennan knocked back lucrative offers from Essendon and interest from Richmond to re-sign for three years.
And Rischitelli has bounced back to some of his best form in 2010 after being offered as trade bait to Carlton for Brendan Fevola in the off-season.
