Lions team-mates disagree on 2010
Gold Coast recruit Jared Brennan has a different behind-the-scenes recollection of his previous AFL club Brisbane in 2010 than former team-mate Justin Sherman.
Sherman, who was on Monday traded to the Western Bulldogs, said the Lions off-field dramas were unsettling.
But Brennan, who was traded to the Suns, said he left on good terms and he did not share Sherman's assessment of their former club.
"It definitely wasn't the case for me at the Lions," Brennan told reporters.
"I spent eight, nine years there (at Brisbane) and had a great time there.
"I can't speak for Shermo and his decision, but I had a great time at the Lions.
"I've left on good terms with the Lions, I think."
When asked if Michael Voss was impressed with his decision to defect to the Suns, Brennan's answer was short: "No!"
The 26 year-old said the chance to start fresh with a new club and be a mentor to younger players was behind his decision to move down the M1.
He is back from holidays in Darwin and will soon be house hunting on the Gold Coast to live closer to the Suns' Carrara headquarters.
"I'm definitely going to move down here," Brennan said.
As for where he plays, Brennan remained open.
"I'm a utility, and that's where I've played the last few years, so where the team needs me that's where I will play," he said.
"The opportunities and the fresh start and help build a culture at the Gold Coast and moving in the right direction."
