Franklin injury doubt
A training injury has cast doubt over Hawthorn star Lance Franklin's chances of playing in Saturday's AFL clash with Brisbane in Launceston.
The in-form forward sprained his ankle on Tuesday, a repeat of an injury which kept him out against West Coast in round seven.
While scans have cleared Franklin of major damage, Hawks football manager Mark Evans said his fitness would be assessed later in the week.
"Scans confirmed it is just a rolled ankle. It's not too bad today and we'll see how he goes at the end of the week ahead of Saturday's game," Evans said on Wednesday.
An injury interruption now would be unfortunate timing for Franklin, who has hit good form with 14 goals in the past four rounds, his longest stretch of games so far this year.
Franklin missed rounds one, four and 11 through suspension, as well as the round-seven injury break.
