Two AFL stars face rough-conduct charges
The AFL match review panel will assess stars Lance Franklin and Jimmy Bartel after they were booked for rough conduct.
Franklin, last year's Coleman Medallist, was reported during the third term on Sunday at Launceston for making contact with North Melbourne utility Drew Petrie.
The Hawks star returned to form in the last quarter, kicking four goals and playing a key role in the nine-point win.
Hawthorn remain a game outside the eight and will desperately need Franklin for Saturday night's match against Collingwood, who are on a seven-game winning streak.
On Saturday night, Bartel was reported for an incident where he collided with Lions onballer Luke Power.
But Power admitted during a radio interview on Sunday that he had tried to "milk" the incident for a 50m penalty.
Cats coach Mark Thompson was hopeful that Bartel would escape any sanction.
"It's just part of the game. It wasn't malicious or anything," Thompson said.
"If they don't throw it out we will see what we will do with defending it. But we didn't think there was a lot in it."
The AFL will announce the match review panels on Monday afternoon.
