Brown awaits fate over Franklin comments
Brisbane Lions star Jonathan Brown is still awaiting judgment from the AFL after being asked to explain comments he made over the charge laid against Hawthorn's Lance Franklin.
Franklin has accepted a reprimand after pleading guilty to rough conduct for his high bump on Adelaide's Michael Doughty.
Earlier this week, Brown stood up for Franklin, describing the bump as "like a fly hitting a human".
The AFL, which takes a dim view of players commenting on incidents which are the subject of reports, asked the Lions star to explain his comments, with Brown providing his explanation.
The league will now make a deliberation, with Brown expected to learn either on Wednesday or Thursday whether he will be hit with a fine of up to $5,000.
