Franklin facing suspension over contact
Hawthorn star Lance Franklin is facing another AFL suspension for a high bump.
The match review panel has upheld his match-day report, charging him with bumping or making forceful front-on contact with Sydney defender Martin Mattner in the last term of Sunday's two-point win at the MCG.
It is the third time in eight matches that Franklin has been reported for a high bump against a shorter player.
Essendon veteran Dustin Fletcher is also facing a one-match ban for tripping Western Bulldogs key forward Barry Hall.
Franklin received a two-match suspension after knocking Richmond's Ben Cousins unconscious in round 21 last season.
The tribunal also upheld his one-match ban for high contact on Western Bulldogs veteran Jason Akermanis in round three.
Franklin will risk a two-match ban if he takes his case to the tribunal and loses, but an early plea would reduce his penalty to one match.
Fletcher's poor record means that his penalty remains one game, even if he takes the early plea.
The panel also charged Brisbane captain Jonathan Brown with pulling the hair of Collingwood defender Harry O'Brien.
Brown can accept a $900 fine - earlier this month, Fremantle's Hayden Ballantyne was also fined for pulling O'Brien's hair.
West Coast onballer Adam Selwood can accept a $900 fine for negligent umpire contact, while Franklin was cleared of contact with Sydney youngster Gary Rohan in the last quarter.
