Power under investigation over AFL bet
Port Adelaide are under AFL investigation over a $20 bet made on a pre-season match 14 months ago.
Power football manager Peter Rohde said in a statement both the club and the AFL were investigating the source of the bet.
It was a multi-bet laid on a game not involving the Power, coupled with two English Premier League matches.
Rohde said the bet had not been traced to any individual, but it was hoped the investigation would be completed by the end of the week.
AFL players and coaches are banned from betting on AFL matches.
Melbourne's Addam Maric was fined last year for placing a bet on an AFL match for a friend, while in 2008 North Melbourne received a suspended fine because board member Ron Joseph placed bets on Kangaroos matches.
In 2007, Adelaide's Simon Goodwin, Melbourne's Daniel Ward and North Melbourne's David Hale were fined for betting offences, while Sydney's Kieren Jack was reprimanded.
