Daine Laurie's assault charge dropped
An assault charge against NRL player Daine Laurie has been dismissed in a Sydney court.
Laurie, 25, was stood down by Wests Tigers in September after being charged with assaulting his partner and mother of his two children at their Leumeah home.
In Campbelltown Local Court on Thursday the assault charge was dismissed and an apprehended violence order was made for one year.
Laurie will play for the Penrith Panthers in 2010 after being released from the final year of his contract with the Tigers.
