Eagleton re-signs with Western Bulldogs
Western Bulldogs midfielder Nathan Eagleton will stay on at the AFL club for at least one more season after agreeing a contract extension.
Eagleton has become the second Bulldogs veteran this week to stay on at the club after Jason Akermanis' decision to play on in 2010.
Eagleton, 30, played every game in 2009 as the Dogs marched to the preliminary final.
But the Dogs admitted Eagleton would play on for less money than he was probably worth, amid speculation he faced a pay cut of up to 50 per cent on his 2009 salary.
"Like Aker, we were unable to offer Nathan a contract that reflects his importance to our club but he has decided to put team success ahead of personal gain," Dogs football manager James Fantasia said.
