Barlow gets two-year contract extension
Fremantle rookie Michael Barlow has been rewarded for making a great start to his AFL career by agreeing to a two-year contract extension with the Dockers.
Barlow was a stand-out in his first two games, where he starred in the wins over Adelaide and Essendon with a combined 67 disposals, after the 22-year-old was recruited as a mature-age rookie last year.
The extension ties Barlow to the Dockers until the end of the 2012 season.
Fremantle player management general manager Brad Lloyd said Barlow had impressed everyone at the Dockers since joining them from VFL club Werribee.
"Although Michael is only a few games into his career, we are very positive about his future prospects and his capacity to play a role in our midfield," Lloyd said.
Fremantle are second on the ladder and play reigning premier Geelong at Subiaco Oval on Sunday.
