France-based Aussie to bolster the Reds
France-based former Australian under-21 flanker Lei Tomiki has signed a two year Super 14 rugby contract with the embattled Queensland Reds.
After a four season stint in France with Narbonne and Castres Olympique, the 26-year-old will return to Australia in October to bolster the depleted and success-starved Reds.
Tomiki earned five Super caps between 2003 and 2004 with the NSW Waratahs before heading to Europe in search of more game time after being blocked by George Smith and Phil Waugh for national honours.
Tomiki has played over 80 matches in the French Top 14, European Challenge and Heineken Cup competitions, bagging 27 tries for his two French clubs.
