Rodzilla named Reds player of the year
Giant Wallabies prop Rodney Blake capped an impressive 2006 when he was named Queensland's players' player of the year on Saturday night.
Blake outpointed flanker David Croft and halfback Sam Cordingley - who played only seven matches for the Reds this season - to clinch the Pilecki Medal.
The 130kg tight-head prop missed only one Super 14 match and made his debut for Australia against England in June.
The 23-year-old re-signed with the Reds in May for two more years and will be part of the Wallabies' spring European tour beginning later this month.
Former Brisbane Broncos half Berrick Barnes won Queensland's rookie of the year prize.
