Western Force sign another Pocock
The Western Force have signed Steven Pocock, the younger brother of Wallabies flanker David, to an academy contract.
Like his sibling, Steven is a back-rower and has joined the Force as a 17-year-old after coming through the Queensland system in Brisbane.
David has gone on to play 15 Tests since and 38 Super 14 matches since making his debut for the Force in 2007.
Steven is among 11 players named on Friday in Rugby WA's 2010 Academy squad, including Australian Schoolboys flyhalf Kyle Godwin and Australian Sevens squad member Zack Holmes.
He moves west after being hemmed in behind three openside flankers in the Reds Academy - Eddie Quirk, Andrew Shaw and Liam Gill.
"It's a huge opportunity that I have been offered, and the Western Force have a great reputation with young players," Pocock said.
"It's my aspiration to play professional rugby as soon I am ready. Seeing how hard Dave works gives me a good idea of what it will take to achieve this."
