NZ trying to lure Reds star Braid home
Queensland Reds star Daniel Braid has been targeted for a return to New Zealand rugby ahead of next year's World Cup.
New Zealand Rugby Union official Neil Sorenson says former All Blacks flanker Braid is one of a number of players the NZRU is showing serious interest.
Braid has spent the last two seasons with the Queensland Reds in the Super 14 and is considered one of this season's in-form players as his team has charged into title contention.
Sorensen said contract offers have been made to around 20 players, playing in New Zealand and overseas, adding Braid's form had not gone unnoticed by the All Blacks coaching staff.
Under current policy, players need to be playing in New Zealand to be considered for the All Blacks.
