Chaplin signs new AFL contract with Port
Victorian-born defender Troy Chaplin has signed a new contract with Port Adelaide, keeping him at the AFL club until the end of 2012.
The 23-year-old has become a mainstay in defence in his 73 games for Port after being drafted to the South Australian club in 2003.
Chaplin said on Thursday he was settled in Adelaide and the decision to commit to a new contract was "pretty easy".
"We've got an exciting list and I think were improving as a team and the group is moving forward," he said in a statement.
"We've shown that our best is pretty good and now it's just about working on that consistency."
