Gray, Hartlett sign new deals with Port
Port Adelaide's emerging onballer Robbie Gray has snubbed lucrative offers from rival AFL clubs to re-sign with the Power.
Gray, 22, and highly-rated 19-year-old Hamish Hartlett on Tuesday signed new contracts with Port, as did defender Paul Stewart.
Victorian-born Gray had been keenly sought by Melbourne clubs and the new AFL entities, Gold Coast and Greater Western Sydney.
But the talented midfielder/forward, drafted by Port in 2006, said he was settled in Adelaide.
"We have an exciting young list that is eager to play finals football and I certainly want to be a part of that," Gray said.
Hartlett, snared by Port with the No.4 pick in the 2008 draft, has attracted rave reviews despite frequent soft tissue injuries limiting him to 14 games so far.
Stewart, 23, has played 28 games for Port since his 2008 debut.
Port's football operations manager Peter Rohde said the trio re-signing was a fillip for the club.
"Without doubt, Gray, Hartlett and Stewart are all very important young players and will form a key part of our team in the future," Rohde said.
"The fact that all three have signed in the current environment with two new franchises set to enter the AFL is very positive for our club and sends a clear message that they see a healthy future here at Port Adelaide."
