Fremantle's Carr banned for one game
Fremantle midfielder Josh Carr has lost his challenge against a one-game suspension at the AFL tribunal and will miss Friday night's game against St Kilda.
Carr pleaded guilty to striking Geelong's Steve Johnson at Skilled Stadium last Saturday.
However, he tried to have the charge downgraded from making intentional contact to reckless contact.
Carr argued he put his arm out at Johnson as a reflex action when he saw the Cat come towards him trying to shepherd.
But the tribunal jury disagreed with Carr's version of events and suspended him for one game with 87.5 demerit points added to his record.
Carr becomes the seventh Fremantle player suspended this season across the AFL home-and-away and pre-season competitions and the WAFL.
