Delisted Carroll free to go to St Kilda
Melbourne have fullback Nathan Carroll on Friday, paving the way for him to train with rival AFL club St Kilda.
Carroll was contracted to the Demons for next season and the club said his salary would be included in next year's salary cap.
Carroll, 28, played 71 games across six seasons for the Demons, and his best year was 2006 when he played every game and finished sixth in the best and fairest award.
But disciplinary issues, such as his involvement in two fights while travelling in Europe late last year, did not help his cause in 2008, and he was suspended for two pre-season games for showing a lack of professionalism.
Carroll is set to start training with the Saints on Monday in the hope of being recruited in the coming national draft.
