Pearce escapes NRL ban with early plea
Sydney Roosters halfback Mitchell Pearce has escaped suspension after pleading guilty to a grade one contrary conduct charge from Friday night's NRL loss to Gold Coast.
Pearce was charged for using his knees in a tackle on Titans centre Gavin Cooper in the dying stages of his sides's 32-28 defeat.
His early guilty plea ensures he can take his place in the Roosters line-up for Sunday's trip to Canberra to face the Raiders.
No other charges were laid following the weekend's matches.
